We're delighted to announce that the Energy Innovation Agency has been shortlisted at this year's Building Innovation Awards in the 'Most Innovative Partnership' category, alongside our partner, University of Salford Energy House Labs.

The Building Innovation Awards celebrate pioneering achievements in the construction and built environment sectors, recognising the people, organisations, and partnerships driving forward innovation to improve the way we design, build, and operate buildings.

This shortlisting acknowledges the joint work delivered through the Future Homes project which supports start-ups and SMEs in bringing low-carbon solutions to market by combining rigorous testing with tailored commercial support. The partnership has played a key role in helping innovators validate their technologies and navigate the complex journey to market, accelerating the development and adoption of low-carbon innovations for homes and buildings across the UK.

The Future Homes project is funded by Innovate UK as part of the Innovation Accelerator programme.

It’s fantastic to be recognised for the strength of our partnership with the University of Salford Energy House Labs, in supporting businesses with low-carbon innovations. The strength of our combined offer lies in testing innovations to verify benefits and efficiency, then matching validated innovations to the right buyers, to both accelerate the deployment of low-carbon solutions and the reduction in carbon emissions, in the built environment.

David Schiele, Director, Energy Innovation Agency

The development of the partnership with the Energy Innovation Agency has been integral to the way we work at Energy House Labs. Our work with start-ups shows them how well their innovations work but getting to market is much more complex than just having a good product. The Energy Innovation Agency works with us to provide the holistic support innovators need to take the next steps in building their businesses.

Professor William Swan, Director of Energy House Labs and Agency Board Member

The winners will be revealed on Tuesday 30th September at the NCC in Birmingham and we're excited for the announcement and wish all other nominees the best of luck.
