The Energy Innovation Agency is looking forward to hosting its first premium event of the year, on Thursday 13th July at Bruntwood Circle Square in Manchester.

This is a must attend for energy innovators, GM organisations looking to decarbonise their buildings and those involved in the city-region’s net zero transition.

Net Zero for Greater Manchester – challenges and innovation opportunities” will bring together a mixed audience of over 100 highly influential innovators, businesses, end-users, and partners to focus on the challenges of reaching net-zero, the green skills gap, and how innovation can help.

The event will feature two panel sessions; in the first, leading energy experts from across the public and private sectors will discuss the challenges and barriers for decarbonisation for Greater Manchester as a region as well as at industry and organisational level, with the second session focusing on how innovation can boost progress towards a carbon neutral Greater Manchester and how we overcome the green skills gap to support this.

The final session of the day will introduce our GM Innovation Accelerator demonstrator project. ‘Energy Accelerator for Non-Domestic Buildings’ will accelerate the deployment of net-zero innovations that enable existing and new commercial and public sector buildings to decarbonise rapidly, connecting innovators; innovative products; and end-users; and removing barriers by supporting development costs for innovators and reducing risks of early adoption for end users. We’ll talk about what we want to achieve and how innovators and end-users can get involved.

Throughout the day there will be an opportunity for attendees to meet and network as well as visit the mini showcase of innovators exhibiting some brilliant new solutions and initiatives that will help the city region achieve its goals.

David Schiele, Energy Innovation Director, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing together innovative businesses with net-zero solutions, from across the UK, with Greater Manchester organisations who have or are on a net-zero journey, to hear first-hand how innovation can help tackle some of our greatest challenges.  The day is certain to bring some insightful and informative discussions but also by actively connecting innovators and end user organisations face to face we can help accelerate action by finding and implementing solutions to meet their needs.”

Pitching Opportunity For Energy Innovators

Following the close of the main event some of our innovative businesses will be performing a series of quickfire innovator pitches to a diverse end-user group, representing the public and private sectors in Greater Manchester and UK organisations, looking to decarbonise and invest.

If you have a solution which closely matches the Agency’s Energy Accelerator for Non-Domestic Buildings funding project and requires real-world demonstration we’d love to hear from you.

The format will be a 10-minute slot that covers a presentation and questions, and the pitch should include what support you are looking for, if relevant.

Places are limited and MUST BE SECURED IN ADVANCE so please email information@energyinnovationagency.co.uk as soon as possible to request a pitch application form.
